Here Is The Box Office For Electric Car Sales In FEB 2022

The sales of electric vehicles in India has witnessed a gradual and promising rise. In February 2022, the passenger electric vehicle segment saw sales of 2,352 units of electric car sales in total, recording 58 percent growth compared to January and a whopping 297 percent growth as compared to 2021, as per data by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). With several benefits, including an early bird scheme, the Tigor EV saw its price go down by as much as ₹ 2.30 lakh. Meanwhile, select Nexon EV variants could be had with incentives of up to ₹ 2.50 lakh. Tata had previously revealed that its electric vehicles are seeing waiting periods of up to six months, thereby impacting monthly retail sales figures. Unfortunately, electric car sales are not at the highest potential as the automotive industry continues to be haunted by the semiconductor issue.

Concerns about climate change, new choices of cars, lowering prices, and validating government policies mean that years after the first modern, mass-market electric cars arrived, the Indian public is beginning to embrace them and the change they symbolize. Electric cars are increasingly mainstream, with Indians picking them because they’re cheap to run in the longer run, as their connection with conventional cars is deteriorating because of several reasons including rising fuel prices.
