MG Is All Set For Export Markets With The New Compact 100% Electric Hatchback

The British motoring brand Morris Garages recently unveiled its much-awaited 100% electric hatchback 2023 MG 4 electric car in China. MG has named the new vehicle ‘Mulan’ in China after the well-known folk heroine.

MG has not disclosed full attributes of the all-new EV but the Mulan/MG 4 is known to built on a novel ‘Nebula’ platform developed by SAIC. SAIC Nebula is a pure electric-only platform intended specifically for electric vehicles.

The new platform, unlike the front-wheel-drive MG ZS EV, will have a rear-wheel-drive on some or all models and will supposedly be capable of a 0-100km/h sprint time of less than 4.0 seconds. There is more space in the cabin as a high-density battery reduces the thickness of the battery by reducing its volume. At the rear, there will be a multi-link independent suspension, huge circa-18-inch alloy wheels, and orange brake callipers. Mulan has a smart cockpit with 5G connectivity and is designed for Level 3 autonomous driving. There are no clear pictures of the interiors that provide insight but a few spy shots have suggested that leather sports seats could be featured in the new all-electric hatch.

MG Motors have started expanding globally with the new MG Mulan EV debut in the European market. Meanwhile, the focus is also on the European market, targeting sales numbers anywhere around 1.2 lakh units.
