According to the industry body FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations), Okinawa Autotech is the largest electric two-wheeler maker in the country after selling 9309 units in May 2022. Last year in May it sold 217 units. The company is examining boosting its EV business that had lately announced an investment of ₹ 1200-1,500 crore in e-two-wheelers in the next two years.
"We will continue growing with a strong vigor in the year ahead with our world-class manufacturing facilities which have state of the art technology creating a complete eco-system of Electric -2- Wheeler in the country," Jeetender Sharma said.
The company had recently launched Okhi-90 electric scooter. It is now planning to switch all its slow-speed models to high-speed. “High-speed models make up 90% of our total volumes even now. The switch to completely high-speed models will happen by Q3 CY22,” Sharma said. The company will introduce the Okhi-100 electric motorcycle, one of the products it is working on as part of the JV with Tacita.
