The New Nexon EV JET Edition Is Here With No Rival

Tata Motors presented another special edition of its SUV range in the country, known as the Jet Edition. The special edition is currently proposed with models including the Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier, and Safari. According to Tata Motors, the Jet Edition models are inspired by Business Jets, to deliver a sense of affluence and indulgence.

The first thing you notice in the Tata Nexon Jet Edition range (including the ICE and EV versions) is the exclusive dual-tone paint job in a unique shade of what Tata calls Starlight. The latter effectively incorporates an Earthy Bronze body color with a platinum silver roof. Relying on the lighting in the surroundings, one might even assume the roof to be finished in a white shade. The Dark Chrome EV badging, as the name suggests, is limited to the EV variant.

Nexon Jet Edition, however, gets luxuries like ventilated seats, an electric sunroof with tilt function, air purifier with AQi display amongst others. Both, the ICE, as well as the EV variants of the Nexon Jet Edition get wireless charging located on the center console, positioned in front of the armrest. Some of these features were already found on Nexon’s other special edition models and top-spec XZ+ (P).

The Tata Nexon Jet Edition, offered in two variants, XZ+ (P) and XZA+ (P), is priced between ₹ 12.13 lakh to ₹ 14.08 lakh (ex-showroom), which means the special edition commands a premium of ₹ 13,000 over their standard equivalent models. Nexon Jet Edition is offered with both petrol and diesel options along with both manual and automatic options. Safari Jet Edition and Harrier Jet Edition are based on XZ+ trim. Harrier Jet Edition costs ₹ 52,000 over standard XZ+ owing to added disc brakes at the rear, while Safari Jet Edition is priced ₹ 30,000 more than regular XZ+ trim.

Although there are rivals to the Nexon Jet Edition including the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and the Mahindra XUV300, there are no immediate rivals to the Nexon EV Jet Edition. The Nexon EV model will be available at 127bhp and 245Nm in the Prime trim and 141bhp and 250Nm in the Max trim.
